Our Story, Our Mission, Our Community
The Sudanese Canadian Church of British Columbia was established to meet the spiritual and communal needs of the growing Sudanese diaspora in the Greater Vancouver area. Born out of a deep desire to create a place of worship that honors Sudanese Christian traditions while embracing the multicultural fabric of British Columbia, the church has grown from a small prayer group into a thriving community of faith.
Many members of our congregation arrived in Canada seeking refuge from conflict, political instability, and hardship in Sudan and South Sudan. They carried with them not only their hopes for a better future but also a rich heritage of faith, resilience, and community spirit that has defined Sudanese Christian culture for generations.
Today, the Sudanese Canadian Church of British Columbia stands as a testament to the enduring power of faith and the strength of community. Affiliated with the Asian and Multicultural Ministries in Canada (AMMiC), our church is part of a broader network of multicultural faith communities dedicated to serving diverse populations across Canada.
